Contribution Help

Contributions are what help fuel this website. They help make it diverse and interesting. Anyone who wants can contribute a piece of information to almost any area of the website and, at next update, their information/news/files/what have you will be up and posted. It's a fun and exciting way to get involved around here.

1) How to contribute news.
2) How to get your project posted.
3) How to send in an editorial.
4) How to send in a file or program.
5) How to get your links posted.
6) What's not allowed?

How to contribute news.

To contribute news, just simply fill out the Submit News Form located off the "Contribute" stub. On this form, give all the necessary information. You can submit general programming news, new websites/links news, new projects announcements, new file announcements, community news, editorials, or just plain whatever you feel might be important for others to hear.

How to get your projects posted

Again, this can be done using the Submit News Form found to your right. On news type, just simply select "Projects" so I know what you're sending in. This will also get a remark on the news page. Projects submitted with less than a paragraph of information will only be posted on the news page!

How to send in an editorial.

Yep, you guessed it! This can also be done using the Submit News Form found to your right. On news type, just make sure to select "Editorial" so I know what you're sending me. (Otherwise it may get lost in the "junk" pile! :P) Editorials less than a paragraph long will be ignored!

How to send in a file or program.

Files are done a little differently here than most would think. Again, fill out all necessary information asked on the Submit Files Form. To avoid someone uploading a file that could be hazardous to the server, only links to files are allowed to be submitted. I don't think it's that big of a request to ask for, you can open a GeoCities account for free and put it there for a few days. Once the site is updated you no longer need to host your file, it will be stored locally on this website.

How to get your links posted

Links are easy to get added to the site. Simply fill out the Submit Links Form with all the necessary information and your link will be added to the links section on the next website update. As simple as 1-2-3. :)

What's not allowed?

I try to keep an open mind to most things people have to say but there are a few things that I WILL NOT post if submitted to this website. Links that are racist, sexist, homophobic, pornographic, illegal, or bigitory in nature WILL NOT be posted. Also, files that are viruses, worms, illegal, or in anyway harmful to someone's computer WILL NOT be posted. Finally, files that do not have a valid URL WILL NOT be posted! Please keep this in mind while you are submitting your contribution.
